The job market is hot these days
« on: November 18, 2018, 08:39:18 am »

In my  circles, there is a lot of turbulence. A lot of people coming, going..  Interesting.

And I don't know if this translate into consulting i.e. "real" consulting market. I am strictly talking about full-time or quasy-full time people.

Which industry sector are you in? There are 3 factors I think that are playing out right now.

1. More jobs are coming back to the US (due to trade war).
2. Corporations are having more money because of record tax cut.
3. More people are dropping out of the job market due to retirement and age discrimination (people who got laid of in their 50ish won't be working ever again. I happen to know a few who lost their jobs this year).

these are all possible and likely, I agree.

I am in the dot gov area..  So I am only seeing things in that realm and admittedly my view could be myopic.
