3 Best Messenger Apps: Telegram vs. Viber vs. WhatsApp
« on: November 16, 2018, 08:46:25 pm »
one must also include signal as part of the messenger landscape. Snowden-approved.

I use all 4: Telegram, whatsapp, viber and Signal.

You can make video calls via viber and whatsapp, much like skype. except viber works on desktop and whatsapp desktop version cannot make any phone calls at all.
telegram can make voice calls.
Signal can make voice calls. It has a cool feature where you can set a self-destruct timer on messages. Ranging from 5 seconds to 1 week.

From what I understand all the phone calls are encrypted, just like messages.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't use all of them, so I will have to check them out. Maybe it's time to move on from Skype? I still use that for calls but wonder why ever since MS bought them out. Or maybe I should say, I wonder if there's something better?
